the 46th year

This is Home, truly
Where I know I must be
Where my dreams wait for me
Where that river always flows
This is home, surely
As my senses tell me
This is where I won't be alone
For this is where I know it's home

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE !!

Last night me and sis were singing old school national day songs! =D I had a great time.. remembering how much I love some of the songs.. The catchy and meaningful words of the songs..

I remember how we had to wear red and white to school to celebrate national day! I always had to borrow from my aunt!! She is always my life saver when it came to clothes. =D Then there was this activity for primary 5 pupils to attend to the national day preview. I was totally so excited about it!! I remember clearly that my teacher said the latest to reach school was 12.45pm!! But when I reached at 12.45pm, every single bus had gone!! =( But thankfully, my teacher was nice enough to give me a ride back home and explained to my parents. lol

I wonder how do schools celebrate national day now..
So, anyway...
I did a little search of the national day songs.

Here is a list..
. 1985 - Stand up for Singapore .
. 1986 - Count on me, Singapore .
. 1987 & 1988 - We are Singapore .
. 1990 - One people, One nation, One Singapore .
. 1998 - Home .
. 1999 - Together (心连心) & Moments of Magic .
. 2000 - Shine on me .
. 2001 - Where I Belong .
. 2002 - We will get there .
. 2003 - One united people ( 一起走到).
. 2004 - Home .
. 2005 - Reach out for the skies .
. 2006 - My island home .
. 2007 - There's no place I'd rather be .
. 2008 - Shine for Singapore .
. 2009 - What do you see .
. 2010 - Song for Singapore .
2011 - In a heartbeat

I can't remember the recent few years the songs. Sad, I used to be so excited over the national day theme songs! Nevertheless, the producers, singers and songwriters still deserve a big thank you for their efforts~
May everyone enjoy this national day!!
