keep travelling as it rejuvenates the soul...
It has been a while since a new update..
Today I had my first reunion dinner with baby's family. Didn't get a chance to in the past as our timing always clash. Though it was a simple dinner but it was heart warming :) every family member should always make it a point to have a proper dinner with family especially during cny.
Tomorrow is time for dinner with my family. Though no steamboat again this year but glad we can have dinner together again! This year a bit late in decorating the house but hopefully will pull it off again this time!
A bit of recap on what I did last year... it was peak period again last September to December and it indeed was tough as it includes people management. Hopefully I will get better at it! As well as get better with my writing skills!
After peak, had a mini break with colleagues for our firm's away day. See colleagues from other departments in a new light. Being in a smaller firm, it's actually not as intimidating. My team is close knit though there maybe times of frustrations during work but I like how we can be professional about things. The line between work n friendship can be segregated and frustrations at work be forgiven. And how the team as learn to work together to get things done instead of pointing fingers and making things work.
Anyhow back to the topic, after the firm get away. I went batam with baby. Our first trip together!! It was also to celebrate his birthday. The hotel didnt turn out as well as we thought. Many disappointments and frustrations with the facilities but I'm sure we both learn to do more research and use better judgement next time. Nevertheless, am glad that he was there. Oo! We went for a massage at this place called the secret spa. Its good! Though slightly more ex then what u could get in batam, the service n facilities is good. :) at least its in proper rooms and not in a huge room with curtains as the only cover.
After I got back from batam, it was time for Hong Kong with family! With only a day rest in between both trips. But it was fun! Though the trip had many hiccups..such as our itinerary didn't go according to plan or there was too much walking and my parents grew restless while my sis n i got aeenxious to shop.. or simply the air was too polluted.. I'm glad we made the trip!! my mum got to meet her relatives, my dad got the chance to fulfil my mum wish, I got to go Hong Kong finally n my sis got to travel in 2013.
And, I just got back from bintan last sun!! It was a 2d1n trip with my team! A chillax trip before the lunar new year and before our off peak ends!!!!! We just nua at the beach, caught hermit crabs, drink beer and nua at our villa. Our villa had its own private pool and buggy to get around!! :) awesome!! Got to laze in the pool n admire stars.. its really pretty.. am really thankful that my manager always make it a point a arrange for a trip each yr..
Yes! That concludes my travel adventures for now. I really should get down to doing my travelogue. Lol. Till the next update...
